For the mother who has spent so much time holding everything together that she no longer knows where she ends and everyone else begins. Beyond THAT Day is a three-day retreat designed to help you move beyond the life-altering moment that changed your life and reconnect with the woman who has been carrying it ever since. Whether that day was a diagnosis, a caregiving season, a difficult birth, a loss, a divorce, or another defining life transition, this retreat offers a space to pause long enough to understand how the experience shaped you-and decide what comes next. Using the Beyond THAT Day framework, you will: SEE what happened and how it changed you. FEEL what it cost, what you've been carrying, and what your emotions may be trying to tell you. CHOOSE what you want the next chapter of your life to look like. Throughout the weekend, you'll participate in guided workshops, reflective writing experiences, mindfulness practices, meaningful conversations, and dedicated time for rest and reflection. What makes this retreat different? Most retreats focus on helping you escape your life. Beyond THAT Day helps you return to it differently. You won't be told who you should become. You won't be asked to fix yourself. Instead, you'll be given the space, support, and structure to understand your story, reconnect with your voice, and make choices that align with the woman you are today-not the woman you had to be to survive yesterday. I am a writer, retreat host, and certified Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy practitioner. My work is informed by both professional training and lived experience, including supporting my daughter through cancer treatment and navigating the emotional realities of caregiving and motherhood. I support women navigating the chapter after a life-altering experience, including motherhood, caregiving, loss, diagnosis, and major life transitions. My approach blends mindfulness, reflective writing, and honest conversation to help women better understand their emotional world and reconnect with themselves. Rather than focusing on fixing, I create spaces where women can pause, reflect, and gain clarity about their experiences. The foundation of my work is the Beyond THAT Day framework: **SEE** what happened. **FEEL** what it cost. **CHOOSE** what comes next. I believe emotions are not interruptions to overcome but information worth listening to. Through guided reflection and shared experiences, I help women understand how their journey has shaped them so they can move forward with greater awareness, self-trust, and intention.

Location & Getting There

Nearest airport: Pensacola International Airport (PNS) โ€“ approximately 35 miles (56 km) from The Lodge at Gulf State Park, about a 50โ€“60 minute drive. It offers the most flight options and is the recommended airport for most guests.

Know Before You Go

This retreat is designed for women navigating the chapter after a life-altering experience, including motherhood, caregiving, loss, diagnosis, major life transitions, and identity shifts. No prior experience with mindfulness, meditation, journaling, or retreats is required. The retreat includes guided discussions, reflective writing, mindfulness practices, and opportunities for personal reflection. Participation in group activities is encouraged but never forced. Guests are welcome to engage at their own comfort level. The retreat is not group therapy, counseling, or mental health treatment and should not be considered a substitute for professional medical or psychological care. Attendees should be comfortable participating in a small group environment and hearing others' personal experiences. Comfortable clothing, walking shoes, and weather-appropriate attire are recommended. Some activities may take place outdoors, weather permitting. Private and shared accommodations are available . Transportation to and from Gulf Shores, Alabama is not included. A 20% non-refundable deposit secures your reservation. Space is limited to maintain an intimate and supportive experience.
